Overview: USYD Fashion Revolution is a community dedicated to addressing sustainability and social impact issues in the global textiles industry, which emits 1.7 million tons of CO2 annually and accounts for 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Co-founded by a team of four, the group became the Sydney branch of Fashion Revolution UK, with a mission to spread awareness of these issues while celebrating the creativity and joy of fashion.
Objective: The goal was to establish a community that raises awareness about the environmental and social impacts of fashion while creating a strong, recognizable brand identity to grow its presence and membership at the University of Sydney.
Approach:
Branding and Visual Identity: Designed and implemented a cohesive visual identity that reflected the group’s mission, ensuring consistency across marketing materials and events.
Community Engagement: Leveraged creative strategies to build a community of like-minded individuals passionate about sustainable fashion, organizing events and campaigns that resonated with the target audience.
Growth Strategy: Focused on increasing visibility on campus through social media, events, and partnerships, driving membership growth and securing additional funding.
Key Results: Grew membership to over 450 within the first year, achieving the 'Large Society' classification at the University of Sydney.Secured 4x funding from the University of Sydney Union for the following year, enabling more impactful events and campaigns.Established a recognised presence on campus through consistent branding and engaging visual storytelling.
